Kindle Drawing Books

If you want to learn how to draw, Kindle isn’t looking so hot:

In this category, you’ll find 6,197 printed books and only 16 Kindle books. I just bought Drawing for the Absolute Beginner — in paperback.

I assumed I’d find more Kindle books in other categories, such as Science Fiction and Fantasy. Instead, that category shows 33,619 printed books and 155 Kindle editions.

I suspect one reason for the lack of drawing books for the Kindle is that they are graphics heavy and so take up a lot of space. That’s probably not the main reason though. That may be lack of demand, at least relative to other books. I think one of main my uses for the Kindle will be reading computer books that I already have of PDF. I’ll need to convert them first. I’m not sure how good those will look on the Kindle.

If you see a book you wish were available on the Kindle but isn’t now, there is a link to click to request that.

Mike Says:

I’m not sure what sort of drawing you’re interested in, and I can’t help with the Kindle aspect (matter of fact, I’d think a drawing book would be horrible on a Kindle), but I can recommend a book I like a lot: Drawing with Your Artist’s Brain. It’s applicable mainly to drawing “from life”. http://tinyurl.com/dey6tt
