Dangit. I think you need the number pad to make this work. Another workaround: TextExpander shortcut. :)

You can always tell who the Mac users are; they're the ones helpfully explaining some workaround they've discovered.

I'm now testing on a Vista machine:
- the symbol appears in the Twitter web interface
- the symbol does *not* work in Twhirl
- I cannot copy/paste the symbol into any Windows app, like Word...just shows a box
- I can't find the symbol in the Character Map

Clearly the symbol is available in some fonts, because it works in the web browser. But overall this is a PITA for Windows users, so I'll probably avoid it and stick with RT in Twitter.

And in spite of also using OS X, my browser shows it as an interrogation simbol (plain "?") so also character codification each one uses at his computer is important.
Not as nice, but RT works better than recycling symbol.

Unicode symbols typically have a fairly descriptive name.

Thus, the search field will often yield exactly the results you need.

Example, if you had searched for «recyc», you would have quickly found all recycling characters.

I sometimes type in parts of word and see what a roll of the ⚅⚄⚂ turns up.
