As far as "better" goes, perhaps. But just Friday I watched my friend's Linux machine crash three times within the course of an hour while debugging in Eclipse. That's 3x more reboots than I had with Vista in over a year. I thought about it, but desktop apps on Linux are not in the same league as desktop OSX apps. As far as “better” goes, perhaps.
