I am hoping that this will be good for him. But for a java developer, leaving a platform is not as easy as it sounds. I will read his blog to see his experiences. Maybe i am wrong and Adobe really needed good engineers. i remember when i was really into Mozilla project back in 2002, one of the top developers (Dave Hyatt if i recall) silently hired by Apple and started to work in the heart of a rival browser when nobody expected.. At the end Mozilla prevailed. Who knows, Swing may be too. Well, i really enjoyed reading Chet’s blog. I am hoping that this will be good for him.
