James Brings Closure to the Debate

With a single paragraph on his blog, James Gosling just ended the Java closures debate.

James Ends the Closures Debate

Now, let’s move forward and git er done. I hope we never find a word that completes this sentence:

Erasure is to Generics, as ________ is to Closures.”

I’ve just loved the news, in spite of not being the best person to analyse its long term results. But there are a lot of smart people out there doing this and I think the discussion was not going anywhere.

I just hope these changes don’t spoil Java even more…

Ah, erasure…Hoch, Ptui!

“mostly patched together”: I love it, very funny.

Jacques Says:

I don’t know if ARM (Automatic Resource Management) would be necessary in a possible BGGA closure, but I think ARM is way too cool to be left behind.

It’s time to unite the best features of each closure proposal and reach an average consensus (hopefully).;-)
